Civic Center to Embaracero and 1 stop

Walking from Civic Center

Underneath 8th and Market lives a string quartette. Sounds of Viola, Violins and Cello drowned out by jackhammering. Walking past a lamppost proclaiming we can do better then capitalism there is Pepsi truck double parked in the bike lane and a man with no teeth holding his bicycle in one hand and a bag of cheerios in the other. Marlboros now sell for $4.98 a pack and the Mega millions is at 99M. A mascaraed Asian girl walks her limping black mutt wearing hot pink sweatpants and cal bears sweatshirt. Pausing to let her pass, picking up my forgotten errand.

Back up 8th Ave to Market

Heading to work the chatty ballerinas are annoyed but their hair is perfectly tied together finished off with tan hairnets. Wonder what the rough guy will do with the cilantro for dinner. A woman whose nose is scrapped with fresh stitches on her head smiles and laughs passing the opposite direction. More jackhammering. The required hardhat area with 4 lazy scooper trucks observes another weathered guy tending to a small dog in a black bag on his shoulder. Back to a smirking lavender clad man playing an accordion with a heart as his yellow hound rolls on his back. Back on the train joined by dark jackets, books and iPhones and headphones. It's quiet and all passengers must keep valid pass or transfer/fate receipt at all times.

We're stopped in the tunnel.

It's a navy scarf wearing day for the girl who didn't wash her hair this morning. Pony-tale tied.

Somewhere between Powell and Montgomery

Tattoo on his neck. Sleeping puppy on the seat. His ears are empty but left with gauging holes. Abercrombie and Fitch Tshirt. New jeans. Old homeless shelter blanket and travelers backpack. Itching his crotch and falling asleep. Sadly the quick stopping train keeps him up. Grungy hair tangled up in a weathered page boy cap. His bags are heavy and he stumbles into me as he gets off the train. Only an arm raised in apology. His dog patiently waits as he balances out the heavy load and moves out of sight.

Montgomery to Embaracero and the Office

Amuse-Bouche and then some at the montgomery station.

Asian business man silver pen. Stylish clear glasses reading a font 6 print 2 pages to a page. Examining more reading intently. Clicking his pen and tapping his black shined shoes. Married but not newly the ring shows wear. Finished reading shifting to a more relaxed position. No briefcase just a moleskin notebook and a red tie. His size to big jacket wrinkles in the back.
